Jason Maclin is a Senior Wealth Advisor with Ascendus Financial Advisors. He began his career in the financial services industry in 2007 and brings nearly two decades of experience helping individuals, families, and small-business owners work toward their financial and retirement goals. Throughout his career, Jason has worked with clients across a wide range of professions, financial circumstances, ages, and stages of life—from those beginning to build wealth to those preparing for or living in retirement.
Before becoming an independent financial advisor, Jason spent much of his career with Fidelity Investments, where retirement planning was a central focus throughout most of his roles. At Fidelity, Jason began as a planning consultant working with participants in employer-sponsored retirement plans. He later worked in a brokerage role as a mutual fund, stock, and options trader before becoming an Investment Solutions Advisor, helping clients evaluate retirement and investment strategies. Jason subsequently served as a bond specialist within Fidelity’s Fixed Income division, working with high-net-worth clients to evaluate individual bonds and develop customized municipal and corporate bond ladders and portfolios. This broad experience allows him to help clients understand complex financial decisions and develop strategies aligned with their circumstances, priorities, and time horizons.
Jason takes a personal and straightforward approach to financial planning. He acts as a fiduciary when providing advisory services and believes lasting advisor relationships are built through integrity, transparency, reliability, and a genuine understanding of what matters most to each client. He holds FINRA Series 7, 6, 63, and 66 registrations through LPL Financial. He is also licensed in Texas as a General Lines Agent for Life, Accident, Health, and HMO insurance and holds a long-term care certification.
Outside the office, Jason is a devoted father of four and an avid outdoorsman. His interests include hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, horseback riding, wakeboarding, and motorcycles. Having grown up competing in water sports, Jason later raced motocross and spent fourteen years competing in rodeo, including eight years as a professional rodeo athlete in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Touring Pro Division. Today, he spends much of his time sharing these passions with his children and supporting them in their own sports and activities.
